The 10th anniversary edition of VivaTech Paris 2026 marked a historic milestone for Europe’s largest startup and technology event. Held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, the four-day conference brought together entrepreneurs, investors, technology leaders, policymakers, researchers, and innovators from around the globe to explore the future of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, sustainability, robotics, quantum computing, cybersecurity, mobility, healthcare, and deep technology.

VivaTech Paris 2026 attracted more than 200,000 visitors representing 165 nationalities, alongside over 15,000 startups, 1,155 speakers, and 60 national pavilions, making the 10th anniversary edition the largest in the event’s history. The conference reaffirmed Paris’ position as one of the world’s leading hubs for innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological collaboration.

Artificial Intelligence Takes Centre Stage

Artificial intelligence was the defining theme of VivaTech 2026, influencing keynote speeches, panel discussions, exhibitions, and product demonstrations. From generative AI and industrial automation to AI regulation, cybersecurity, robotics, and quantum computing, speakers explored how emerging technologies are transforming industries and societies.

The conference also highlighted Europe’s ambition to strengthen its technological sovereignty while encouraging international collaboration in AI research, semiconductor development, cloud infrastructure, digital trust, and responsible innovation.

The event also welcomed Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon and founder of Blue Origin; Bernard Arnault, Chairman and CEO of LVMH; Joe Tsai, Chairman of Alibaba Group; Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens; Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web; Arthur Mensch, co-founder and CEO of Mistral AI; Aidan Gomez, co-founder and CEO of Cohere; Shantanu Narayen, Chairman and CEO of Adobe; Christophe Fouquet, CEO of ASML; Jeremy Allaire, co-founder and CEO of Circle; Yann LeCun, Meta’s Chief AI Scientist and Turing Award laureate; Dave (David) Limp, CEO of Blue Origin; former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry; former NASA astronaut Mike Massimino; Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission; Ekaterina Zaharieva, European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation; Catherine MacGregor, Chief Executive Officer of Engie; and Christel Heydemann, Chief Executive Officer of Orange.

Their participation demonstrated VivaTech’s unique ability to bring together influential figures from government, industry, academia, and the global startup ecosystem to discuss the technologies that will shape the coming decades.

India in the Spotlight

One of the defining moments of VivaTech 2026 was the participation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who delivered a keynote address outlining India’s vision of “AI for All.” He highlighted the country’s investments in artificial intelligence, semiconductor manufacturing, digital public infrastructure, and one of the world’s largest and most dynamic startup ecosystems.

Together with French President Emmanuel Macron, Modi reaffirmed the strategic partnership between India and France, emphasizing cooperation in innovation, research, clean energy, defence technologies, and digital transformation.

Startups at the Heart of Innovation

Although global CEOs and political leaders attracted international attention, startups remained the driving force behind VivaTech. More than 15,000 startups presented breakthrough technologies across artificial intelligence, robotics, health technology, climate technology, fintech, cybersecurity, mobility, space technology, quantum computing, and industrial automation.

The event provided a unique meeting place where entrepreneurs connected with venture capital firms, corporate innovation teams, multinational companies, researchers, and policymakers, creating new partnerships and investment opportunities that will help shape the next generation of technology companies.

The Vision Behind VivaTech

VivaTech was founded in 2016 through a partnership between Publicis Groupe and Groupe Les Échos (now Les Échos–Le Parisien Group) with the ambition of creating Europe’s leading technology and startup event.

The vision was spearheaded by Maurice Lévy, then Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Publicis Groupe. Born in Oujda, Morocco, in 1942, Lévy joined Publicis in 1971 and transformed the company into one of the world’s leading communications and digital transformation groups. Recognizing the growing importance of innovation and entrepreneurship, he envisioned an international platform where startups, investors, corporations, researchers, and governments could collaborate under one roof while showcasing Europe’s technological excellence on a global stage.

The project was launched through the partnership between Publicis Groupe and Groupe Les Échos. During VivaTech’s 10th anniversary celebrations, Maurice Lévy publicly acknowledged the important support of Bernard Arnault in helping transform that vision into reality.

Today, VivaTech has become Europe’s largest startup and technology event and one of the world’s leading innovation conferences, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, multinational corporations, researchers, and policymakers from across the globe.

Beyond Technology

VivaTech distinguishes itself from many global technology conferences by combining innovation with discussions on public policy, sustainability, ethics, education, investment, and economic development.

Across four days, participants explored topics including responsible artificial intelligence, digital sovereignty, industrial competitiveness, climate innovation, future employment, venture capital, healthcare, smart cities, defence technology, next-generation manufacturing, and the evolving relationship between technology and society.

The conference demonstrated that technological progress depends not only on breakthrough inventions but also on collaboration between governments, businesses, researchers, investors, and entrepreneurs.
