Launched in 2009, Nadan is a 151’3″ award-winning luxury motor yacht built by the prestigious American shipyard Burger Boat Company. With both interior and exterior styling crafted by Burger and naval architecture by Bruce King Yacht Design, this timeless vessel redefines sophistication on the water, blending the opulent charm of the Art Deco era with cutting-edge engineering for an unparalleled modern classic yachting experience.
Highlights
– Classic exterior lines and styling with Art Deco interiors of the highest quality
– Jacuzzi discreetly placed aft of the upper deck house
– Zero speed stabilizers for smooth passage at anchor or underway
– Shallow draft for access to locations that are inaccessible to most superyachts
Construction & Design
Nadan’s hull and superstructure are built in an aluminum, spanning three decks, with a 26’7″/8.1m beam and a remarkably shallow six foot (two meter) draft.
Launched in June 2009 and after an extensive post-launch sea trials, Nadan was officially delivered in August of that same year.
Exterior Styling
Nadan presents a classic fantail design evocative of yachts from the 1920s, but with modern systems and build precision. Her all-aluminum structure provides both strength and reliability. With a length of 46 meters and a 2.0-meter draft, she is optimized for both long-range cruising and serene anchor stays.
Her outdoor areas are thoughtfully laid out to promote comfort and socializing. The main aft deck features a generous dining space with stunning sea views, enhanced by classic fantail seating. The spacious upper deck above acts as a social hub with a full bar, dining setup, and lounge areas. For sun lovers, the forward sunpads provide a perfect escape with panoramic vistas.
Additionally, she includes a well-stocked range of water toys and a tender, making her a full-service floating getaway.
Interior Aesthetics
With interiors led by designer Ken Freivokh, Nadan fosters a warm, inviting ambiance. Her primary decorative element is Madrona Burl wood with Macassar Ebony inlays—materials of the very highest quality.
The formal dining room is cleverly designed with floor-to-ceiling doors that open completely, with a corresponding fold-out section of the bulwark hydraulically deploying to serve as a balcony, enabling a seamless indoor-outdoor dining experience.
Guest Accommodation
Nadan is tailored for up to ten guests -eight adults + two children- across four luxury staterooms. The master suite is situated on the main deck, while the lower level hosts a VIP suite, a double cabin, and a twin cabin. Each room includes an en-suite bathroom for privacy and comfort.
Separate crew quarters allow discreet and professional service.
Performance & Range
The yacht is powered by two Caterpillar C-18 diesel engines, each producing 600 horsepower. With a cruising speed of 12 knots and a top speed of 14 knots, she offers smooth and efficient travel. At an economic speed of 10 knots, she boasts a range of up to 2,400 nautical miles thanks to her 4,269-gallon fuel capacity. Her stabilizer system ensures comfort both underway and at rest.
Amenities Onboard
The yacht features comprehensive air conditioning and underwater lighting to enhance the nighttime ambiance. A large sundeck crowns the vessel, complete with sunpads and a Jacuzzi that delivers sweeping views and ultimate relaxation.

The Story Behind the Build
The original owner, a passionate yacht enthusiast and U.S. car dealer, dreamed of crafting a vessel reminiscent of 1930s-era cruisers. He specifically sought an American build and chose Burger Boat Company for their heritage dating back to the 1860s.
Key Requirements
– Traditional styling
– Capability for U.S. coastal and inland waterways
– Exceptional craftsmanship
– Fuel efficiency and minimal wake
The Build Journey
What began with a vision became Nadan, a tribute to early 20th-century elegance. She was completed and delivered on August 26, 2009, after over four years of meticulous work.
One notable challenge was creating the trailboards on her bow. After subcontractor options fell short of owner specifications, Kenton Keadle from Burger’s in-house team carved them himself by hand—devoting hundreds of hours to the task, to achieve perfection.
Shallow draft requirements for inland cruising prompted a narrower hull design. This made accommodating modern systems a design challenge, but Bruce King Yacht Design and Burger met the brief with ingenuity, ensuring accessibility and performance.
The interiors fused traditional nautical elements with luxury finishes: white beadboard ceilings, madrona burl paneling, and sycamore and teak floors, adorned with polished stainless steel and Lalique crystal accents. Even the mast and bowsprit, though appearing as wood, were faux-painted composite for durability without compromising visual authenticity.
Upper Deck House Addition
Added in the 2019 refit, this new structure includes a comfortable lounge area, desk, and a convenient day head—creating a peaceful private escape.
